At May and August, we believe that true luxury doesn’t come from excess, but from the purity and richness of simple, whole ingredients. Our journey began five years ago, sparked by a deep desire to reconnect with the land, with nature, and with the traditions of crafting products that nourish both body and soul. Every bar of soap, every jar of body butter, and every drop of oil we produce is handcrafted in small batches in my home, where I live with my family, just as it has been since the beginning. My name is Pepper, and I started May and August while homeschooling my children. What began as a practical learning project quickly grew into something far more profound—a passion that would shape our lives and our business. While we no longer homeschool, homeschooling allowed us the flexibility to learn hands-on, embracing creativity and practical skills, and it was during this time that I began exploring the world of soap-making. With abundance of fresh goat milk, we realized we could create something beautiful, nourishing, and luxurious right at home. The heart of May and August lies in the farm-to-market tradition. We’ve always been inspired by the idea that the best products come from a close connection to the ingredients—those that are locally sourced, lovingly tended, and minimally processed.
