My name is Nora Thompson, and I create misfit characters called The Rots. After working many years as a traditional illustrator, I surrendered to the lure of designing the kinds of characters I had admired for so long but had never attempted to design myself, from bemused ravens and plague doctors to cat queens and yoga monsters. Now I paint, draw and splatter my original artwork on repurposed cabinet doors, wood, canvas and paper out of my home studio near Pittsburgh. My goal is to create artwork for people like me who are just a bit off-center and searching for something a little bit twisted.
