I’m Hanna—a marketer by day, cookbook writer by night, and the artist behind Hey, Stranger. About five years ago, I started drawing these weird little alien guys on blank cards for my friend’s birthdays. They’re odd, slightly unhinged, and deeply endearing—kind of like the best conversations with an old friend. Making them cracks me up, and my friends feel the same way when receiving them. Turns out, there’s something special about sending (or receiving) a card that feels as strange and delightful as real human connection. What started as a personal joke turned into a full-fledged project. I launched a subscription program so more people could send (or collect) these freaky little cards. I print with anlgae-based ink on recycled paper— because even weird little aliens should care about the planet.
