Subversive Cross Stitch began in the spring of 2003 as a form of anger management therapy when I was dealing with a bully of a boss. At my wit’s end and in dire need of some art therapy, I stopped by a craft store on the way home from work one day and picked up an ornate sampler—I hadn’t done any cross stitch since I was a kid. Once I finished the intricate border of pink flowers, I decided to stitch the word “F*ck” right in the center. It felt so great, and I couldn't wait to share it with others! How are we different? Julie Jackson is the OG, the first to think about putting the "F" in cross stitch over 20 years ago. Our kits are top quality with DMC embroidery floss, silver-grade DMC/Charles craft fabric with pinked, anti-frey edges, two quality needles in case you lose one, sustainable bamboo hoops that have been polished smooth and full color patterns with time-tested instructions.
