Meraki was born from a place of personal frustration and a realization that the market was missing products that blended functionality with individuality for people who live active, outdoor lifestyles. I grew up surrounded by watermen, spending mornings on crab boats before school and being immersed in life on the water from an early age. Through those experiences, I quickly noticed how limited the options were for people who wanted gear that was not only practical, but also reflected their personality and style. Most products in the marine, fishing, and surf industries were designed purely for function, often overlooking self-expression entirely. Years later, while living in Indonesia and spending nearly every day surfing, boating, and traveling between islands, I realized how essential a dry bag was for my lifestyle. I needed something durable, waterproof, and adventure-ready, but every product I found felt plain and lacked personality. That frustration became the inspiration behind Meraki.
