We are a Eco friendly fashion revolution, using alternative materials to make premium products without comprising on quality or ethics. Our first alternative material in our revolution is Cactus leather. All our current accessories and items are crafted using this brilliant material. Moving forward we hope to explore more sustainable and ethical materials, proving to the fashion industry that style should not come with a ethical price tag. Why are we nopal leather mad you ask? Well lets look at some of the positives. ~ USDA Certified Organic - There is no herbicdes or pesticides used in the growth of the cacti. ~ No toxic chemicals, phthalates or pvc so the material is partially biodegradable. ~ Completely vegan - PeTa approved ~ Cacti can grow in severely degraded soils, which are inadequate for other crops - Minimal affect on food producing land. ~ Cactus is a natural carbon sink, it has a great CO2 sequestering capacity. The ranch that grows the cactus absorbs 8,100 tons of CO2/year whilst only generating 15.30 tons of CO2 annually. ~ Only the mature leaves are cut without causing any damage to the plant itself. ~ No irrigation system is used reducing water waste. The cacti require only rain water only. ~ The drying process uses solar energy meaning energy use required to dry this material is minimal. ~ Any excess crop not used for the production of leather is used in the food industry.
