Pastacuita is a small handcraft company located in Barcelona. The project started in Argentina when in 1997 I started to make and sell some handmade jewelry in Buenos Aires craft fairs to pay my holidays. I never imagined that what started out almost as a game would end up being my job for over twenty years! Now we are located in Barcelona where the modern environment along with the new techniques known in Europe allowed us to take a quantum leap forward for developing original designs. Our jewels are handmade, using mainly polymer clay handled with different techniques such as “Millefiori”, “Mokume gane”, Varnishing and Particle lineup. With these methods, we get different designs that afterwards are mounted in pewter plated bases, always of the highest quality and antiallergenic. Pastacuita workshop is formed by three permanent people. Carmen and Raquel that can be considered as the engine and heart of the company since they set the pieces with patience and ability, mix the resins and, above all, plan designs every season. And then, it's me, Mariano, the main designer and company founder. My work consists of making complex frames with different techniques in order to have colors available and to make pieces to order.
