About Creature's Virtue

Melanie Merenda is a jeweler and painter. A New York native, she received her BFA in jewelry from Pratt Institute in 2014, before relocating to Asheville, NC in 2016. 'Creature's Virtue,' her fine jewelry line, began in 2016 as a collection of naturally and symbolically inspired work. It is aesthetically motivated by exploration in texture and scale. Melanie is a part of a shared studio and retail gallery at Curve Studios, in Asheville's vibrant River Arts District. She is a one woman show. All the jewelry is handmade by her in this space. All of her materials are sourced from vendors based in the United States, using ethically sourced materials. The majority of her jewelry is constructed using sterling silver, brass, and semi-precious gemstones, with a small selection of 14k gold pieces. Read their story
