About Firefly Notes

Long before it became a worldwide whisper among makers, Firefly Notes began as a tiny cottage venture in 2008—just a single pair of hands crafting treasures by lamplight and listing them on Etsy. What started as a flicker soon glowed brighter, growing into a bustling Shopify shop and a family of wholesale partners around the globe. Along its path, Firefly Notes has been spotted in Vogue Knitting, Interweave, Knit Simple, Buzzfeed, Knitwit, and other revered publications. My name is Sandy Bahrich, and I create from my little Steveston studio tucked on the salty, wind-kissed west coast of Canada. Each piece begins the same way: with vintage imagery, a spark of nostalgia, and a swirl of eco-friendly resin that sets the scene. I’ve always believed that small things can hold big stories—and I try to tuck a bit of wonder into everything I make. While I still have my hands in every part of Firefly Notes, I’m also supported by a small, talented crew who help bring my creations to life.
