Ghazi was stress-cooking after a final exam, making a batch of hot sauce from a recipe he’d been tinkering with. The smell filled the apartment. One by one, his roommates and their friends came out of their rooms — “What’s cooking?” “You made this?” “Oh my God, bro, this is so good.” Within minutes, everyone was in the kitchen. Eating, tasting, talking. Nobody planned it. The sauce just brought people together. That moment stuck with us. Because that’s exactly what food did in our family growing up.
