About The Root Cellar Apothecary and Market

The Root Cellar Apothecary and Market is a husband-and-wife duo (Jordan + Krista) from small town, Wisconsin, who are dedicated to bringing cleaner and affordable options to our customers' homes and tables. We aim to have as few ingredients as possible on our ingredient lists. Our story... We had always been somewhat concerned about avoiding things that were full of harmful chemicals, but we really didn't get more serious about it until we had our daughter. She was born 2.5 months early and spent 2 months in the NICU in St. Paul, so as we brought this tiny little premature baby home, we wanted to make sure what we were using for her wasn't so harsh and full of hormone-disruptors. As time went on, we needed to figure out if I (Krista) was going to go back to work. Jordan basically said if there was ever a time to finally pursue the business endeavor we always had in mind, now was the time. So, with God on our side, we decided to pull the trigger. Jordan still continues to work full-time for now, while mostly Krista works the business. Our hope is to someday have a retail space that we can do all the above! Candles are my (Krista) bread and butter, hands down. They bring me the most joy and I love to let the creative juices flow as I craft my scents, and to let my boho, edgy, faith, nature and midwest inspiration shine through as I design my labels.
