About Stick Candles

Stick Candles are 100 % Beeswax Candles that are cast from Sticks, Twigs and Branches by a small team of maker/chandlers in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The shapes that we cast are chosen for their beauty and detail, and also importantly, for their inclination to be used as functioning candles that perform properly, and maintain visual interest throughout their use. We forage shapes in Nature, and recreate our finds in wax sourced exclusively from apiaries in the United States, and Canada. Every small batch of wax is unique in composition : Start color and aroma of Beeswax correspond to a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to : climate, weather, habitat, bloom/flower profile, and the time of year of both the Bee and Human Harvest. The result is a wonderfully unpredictable range of hue and scent with a capacity to remind us of experiences and notions both familiar and exotic. Beeswax - though considerably more expensive than other candle waxes - is favored for its cleaner and longer burn, and some say : brighter flame. Our process is completely hand made from start to finish. Each step of the creation of our candles is executed with human intention and a desire to provide beauty and usefulness. It's our hope that Stick Candles reflect the wonder of the Natural World, and in that spirit, enhance occasions calling for candlelight. Read their story
