Maёrle was created by Elaine Gray, an illustrator based in Littleborough. Maёrle is a crafted name inspired by Elaine's Scottish roots and a love for Scandinavian simplicity. Her work has a minimalistic style, using a contemporary neutral or earthy colour palette. She is deeply inspired by the natural world and finds peace in flora, fauna and the sea. She seeks to create art that reflects a connection to nature, beauty, and quiet strength. Whether it’s a card or print, her aim is always the same, to create pieces that feel calm, thoughtful and quietly beautiful. She believes that simplicity and beauty go hand in hand, and hopes her work brings a sense of peace, joy and inspiration to the everyday moments it becomes part of. All Maёrle products are made with vegan materials wherever possible.
