J Christopher Co. Spices & Rubs offers unique taste for those that crave a new flavor! An all purpose seasoning that was born out of desire, made for BBQ but works on all foods - while only using 2% salt. Conceived in 2006, after trying many spice rubs and blends looking for the perfect Baby Back Rib rub, and years of many failed BBQ dinners, our founder JC Flugger wanted more - More flavor, with less salt. So he made his own blend; THE RUB. Created with traditional BBQ flavors from Tennessee that are fused with California Wine Country cuisine, crafted with heart and passion. But how did that happen with very little salt? During a trip in 2009, at the street market Shuk Machane Yehuda in Jerusalem, he found it - Sumac! Savory, acidic, lemony, it had it all. It was the perfect replacement for salt. The Rub and Hot Rub work on nearly every food, every meal. Meats, veggies, snacks, dips, drinks - and as such, that's why we say #ItsOKtoRubIt!
