About Kindheart Designs

The essence of Kindheart Designs is kindness – for others and especially for ourselves. With this inspiration in mind, I create a variety of original art pieces to bring mental health, self-compassion, and vintage-inspired color into everyday life. In 2019 I graduated with a degree in Health Education. And in 2020... well we all know what happened. Newlywed, in a new city, and fruitless in my job search, I put my lifelong love of creating to use. I started by lettering some digital art pieces with song lyrics and retro-inspired designs, but it wasn't long before I wondered if I could be saying more with my designs. As a very anxious but stubbornly resilient individual, the messages I surround myself with are incredibly important. And so I started lettering the words I needed to meditate on the most – and now they are part of art pieces I get to share with you! Much of my work centers on self-compassion. There are so many messages out there telling us to work harder, hustle faster, and to motivate ourselves by beating ourselves down. I take a different approach. While guilt and shame make us smaller and cause us to turn inward, self-acceptance and self-compassion are the foundation for growth. We are all imperfect, messy humans doing the best we can. It’s not all good vibes and idealized, social media-ready pictures. On good and bad days alike, it’s important to give ourselves a little more grace.
