Born in India, educated in England, and shaped by life in the United States, my journey across cultures deeply influenced how I see craft, design, and home. Some of my earliest memories are of my father’s spinning mills and visiting ITMA as a child—watching powerful modern machinery transform the textile world. While those innovations brought scale and efficiency, I also witnessed something quieter: the gradual fading of handmade weaving and the communities behind it. The machines were impressive, but they lacked the warmth, patience, and human presence that give craft its soul. Terraweave was created to preserve that disappearing artistry. We partner with skilled artisans to create thoughtfully designed pieces that allow heritage to live beautifully within contemporary spaces. Every piece supports artisan livelihoods, protects traditional techniques, and honors the hands that bring it to life.
