About The Sly Violet

The Sly Violet creates clever, happy things for you and your tiny humans. Every garment is printed by hand in Chicago on soft, quality eco-friendly fabrics. The idea for The Sly Violet came over the course of countless hours attached to my breast pump. With babies on the brain, I scribbled down hundreds of phrases and design ideas for my teeny tiny humans (many of which are still patiently waiting to be brought to life). I took a screenprinting class at Lillstreet Art Center to learn how to print by hand and I continue to practice and learn in the studio beside many inspiring, wildly creative makers. As a new mom, I found myself gravitating toward cozy, soft fabrics for my babies to wear, but I was still on the hunt for items that also felt like my style. So when I decided to start The Sly Violet, I spent a lot of time selecting quality, eco-friendly tees and onesies (that I myself would be drawn to) to be the perfect canvas for clever, happy designs —fit for all tiny humans (and us big humans too).
