Prices Patent Candles Ltd. has been producing candles since 1830. As early as 1830 - long before the invention of the light bulb - Price's Patent Candles Ltd. began manufacturing candles. Price's Candles dominated the night light market early on and became the largest candle manufacturer in the world by the end of the 19th century. Back then, the company succeeded in producing inexpensive stearin candles that burned just like expensive beeswax candles. Price's Candles patented this success and over time held a total of 114 patents for their inventions. The long and close relationship with the British royal family was strengthened by the introduction of a composite candle - on the occasion the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert — reinforced even further. Prices holds the “Royal Warrant” for Her Majesty Elizabeth II and is therefore still the Queen's court supplier today.
