I grew up in Cameroon, Africa where my grandfather owned a cocoa farm.To me cocoa pod was a fruit because its pulp was sweet. I’d eat the pulp and discard the seeds, thereby infuriating my grandfather. I didn’t know they used those seeds to make chocolate. In fact, I did not have my first chocolate bar until I was 12. When I finally did, I became fascinated with chocolate. I began learning how to make chocolate and finally launched ashanty chocolate in 2016.Read their story
