Calypso Chile was founded by Marcela Cofré around 1996 in a small backyard workshop in Chile. Wanting to stay close to her family, she began creating beautiful handmade fused glass — from jewelry and home decor to one-of-a-kind ceremonial and religious pieces inspired by Jewish and Christian traditions. Each piece brings color, texture, and elegance to meaningful spaces and celebrations. Marcela is also a passionate Fair Trade activist. She has spent years guiding fellow artisans across Chile in ethical production, fair commerce, and building supportive community networks. Her mission: connect large buyers with small local makers and create circles of collaboration and impact. And who am I? I’m Marcela Jr. Life brought me to the U.S., and the best way I found to support my mom — her business and values — is by making it easier for you to access her stunning, functional glass art. Through Faire, I’m here to help bring her handcrafted creations into your store, your home, and your celebrations. Plus, thanks to the basic macramé knot my mom taught me when I was younger, I now create my own one-of-a-kind macramé decor, gifts, and jewelry — adding my own thread to this story of handmade tradition and love.
