Welcome to Tanga Baskets, a local artisan company based in Bolgatanga, Ghana, dedicated to supporting the talented weavers of Bolga baskets. Every purchase you make directly benefits these artisans, many of whom are widows and single parents, helping them to achieve a better quality of life. My name is Francis, a 35-year-old entrepreneur, and I founded Tanga Baskets in 2015 shortly after graduating from college. Growing up in Bolgatanga, I witnessed firsthand the struggles of many women in our community who relied on basket weaving to provide for their families. With my knowledge of online marketing, I began visiting women’s weaving groups in surrounding communities, offering support and essential resources such as access to clean drinking water and other basic needs. Through the online sales of their beautifully crafted Bolga baskets, I ensure that these artisans are paid fairly and compensated for their hard work. Our mission extends beyond fair trade. We are committed to community development projects, including providing street children with clean drinking water, classroom desks, and hot meals every quarter.
