About Mieles Familia Abarca

In 1929, in Ayora, one of the towns with the most beekeeping tradition in Spain, our grandfather Cristóbal Abarca Pérez started with his first beehives. In 1960, our father José Abarca Norte settled in Valencia, where he began to increase the number of beehives, and it was here that he created his family with my mother Mº Carmen López Fuentes, with whom he had my four sisters and me, who from a very young age continued the family tradition. At the age of 18, my father gave me my first 50 beehives so that I could start forging my own destiny. It was at this moment that I changed course and we began to sell all our production directly to the final consumer without intermediaries, specializing in producing premium quality honey, offering the customer a Km0 product and fair trade. Currently, I am educating my children Daniel Abarca and Alex Abarca in the same way my father and grandfather did with me, with respect for the environment and nature, to care for our bees above all and to produce honey sustainably. In my children continues a family legacy of tradition, craftsmanship, culture, and a respectful way of working.
