I'm Crystal, a graphic artist, creative designer and the human behind Doodle & Ghoul Doodle & Ghoul is a project born from mental health battles, fought on two fronts: Doodle, me; a curious dreamer full of aspirations, hopes and dreams. And a dood called Dai, my ghoul; a supernatural creative force within, an artistic entity who wants to be released, if not through creativity, then through other more destructive means like anxiety, depression, and dissociation. I found myself constantly doodling characters whenever I felt low or was going through difficult times, and after years of fighting against my mental health I finally realised how important art and creativity are in achieving balance and mental clarity. Doodling has always been my self-care. It helped me focus on mindfulness, and build sustainable mental health frameworks, and if I can work to understand my mental health better through doodling, I can recenter myself and reclaim the balance.
