Alice Kim created Hanalei Beauty Company with the purpose of creating Island-powered skincare for all. When she moved from the mainland to Hawaii, she noticed that the Hawaiian Islands were surrounded by natural beauty, but there were no beauty companies that captured this with Modern Aloha in a skincare brand. In 2015, Alice founded Hanalei beauty company with this as her goal. Hanalei Beauty Company works to create gentle beauty products, inspired by Hawaii’s diverse ecosystem, tropical landscape and native botanicals. Real island ingredients like Kukui oil, Maui cane sugar, and Papaya enzyme are infused into Hanalei’s beauty products so that people can experience the Islands’ beauty anywhere in the world.
