I’m Deane Christiansen. I’m a self taught artist, illustrator, designer and painter living in beautiful Alberta, Canada. My creative story started early as a child. I grew up surrounded by creative influences, mainly my Mom and Gramma. They taught me how to sew, crochet, paint and draw (especially in my mom’s cookbooks!). I loved learning everything. After marriage and kids in my early 20’s, I took a part time job at a quilt store, and that’s when I became hooked on quilting. I’ve spent nearly 25 years now in the sewing and quilting industry. Owning and operating a quilt shop is where my love for the fabric turned into a passion to create the artwork for it. A few years ago, I took a leap of faith. I sold my quilt shop and immersed myself into becoming a full time artist. That has since spun me into a world of licensing my artwork across a multitude of products (including fabric) and open my print studio. If I had to describe my style? A unique, modernized, vintage style with a whimsical twist. My collections and artwork are colorful, trendy, and unique. Every piece I make is created from the heart in the hopes of making you smile :) Read their story
