Simone Florell’s abstract paintings explore effects, after-effects and synergistic dynamics of human relationships, encounters and interactions. The German artist – born, raised and currently living and working in Berlin in her studio – creates organic forms and shapes of acrylic colour and gouache on paper as well as on canvas, creating layers of glaze and with her brush. Since her first child came into the world in 2014, the topics of anthropology, psychology, personal development, nurture vs. nature, and culture have interested her more than ever before, and what she is constantly learning about these things is reflected in her artistic work.
