About Humility

Hi, my name is Yanique Dayna Teape – I am a first-generation college graduate, born in Jamaica W.I. and Raised in Queens, New York. I’m the owner and currently the only employee of Humility. I was raised in a home that believes in the healing power of herbal remedies – when my sisters and I we were sick, before reaching for traditional allopathic medicines, my mother and grandmother would reach for the bush (another name for herbs). At some point, probably when I got old enough to make a few of my own decisions, I forgot about the herbs. I changed my healthy eating habits and I was no longer incorporating tea’s and wholesome foods. Soon enough, in the form of a divine intervention the love of herbs returned to me, and when it did, I promised to never live without it again. During the time of my reawakening I was suffering with chronic bacterial vaginosis (BV). It was terrible, I spent thousands of dollars visiting doctors and leaving with the same hopeless medications each time. I decided to take matters into my own hands, I went for the one thing I knew was a proven healer, herbs, and they did not fail me. I began by making an herbal blend that cured my recurring BV, I then moved on to creating herbal blends to increase energy and reduce acne. I went on to creating organic skin and body products. My family and friends tested my formulations and they worked! This was the birth of Humility. Read their story
