NOAMA is the minimalist graphic art practice of Kent-based artist Donna Baitey, who works with vegan gouache, refillable pencils and found paper. Drawing from the raw shapes and striking lines of Brutalist and Modernist architecture — alongside visual cues from 1950s to 1970s culture — NOAMA art is grounded in simplicity, restraint, and a deliberate tension between form and emotion. Donna’s time in India brings a sense of intimacy and nuance to the work. Her pieces celebrate imperfection, craftsmanship, and the quiet beauty of the handmade and remade — all of which is reinforced by her choice of medium and her tactile approach to application. NOAMA art is marked by a sensitivity to rhythm, space, and repetition.
