The brand is based in the artisan community of Sesquile, Colombia, where Elena honed her skills and began producing pieces for other brands before launching her own line. In the midst of the pandemic and social unrest of 2020, mother and son team, Elena and Daniel, saw an opportunity to create something meaningful, a sustainable brand that would lift the community of Sesquile and its surroundings. They wanted to create pieces that tell stories of tradition, culture, and heritage, fused with the beauty and uniqueness of the present. They also committed to using a percentage of profits to help teach, develop, and sustain the community of artisans in the region, as well as using ethically sourced materials and implementing zero waste policies. With the help of talented creatives such as Nana Abramova, Anneliese Tieck, Danika Underhill, Wearestains, Valerie K, and Carlo Carrizosa, Elena and Daniel were able to bring this dream to life.
