About The English Soap Company

The English Soap Company story began in the year 2000, when our founders Bob and Juliet discovered a number of vintage soap moulds lying unused in a machinery workshop on a farm in Kent. Inspired by their discovery, they spent many years refining the art of soap making and perfumery to create a bar that is smooth and silky, moisturising rather than drying, and beautifully fragranced to last until the end of the bar. As the business grew, production moved from the kitchen table to our farm site in the Sussex countryside, where our products continue to be made today. Over the years the company expanded steadily, and in 2012 Bob and Juliet’s son Oliver became Managing Director, working alongside his wife Ailsa as Business Development Director. In 2017 the range grew beyond soap to include hand creams, hand sanitisers, shower gels, perfumes, scented candles and hand and body washes. What began as a small kitchen table business is now an internationally recognised brand exporting to over 40 countries, with partnerships including Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. To protect the integrity of the brand and support our network of independent retailers, our products are intended for sale through physical retail stores or a retailer’s own website.
