Focus America Corporation was founded in August 2012 in New York City by Atsushi, who was born and raised in Japan. During his time as an expatriate in New York, Atsushi was surprised to find how few Japanese products—charming, practical, and steeped in history—were available in the world’s largest market. Motivated to share Japan’s rich traditions and thoughtful craftsmanship with the U.S., he left his corporate career to pursue this mission. Today, Focus America connects retailers and consumers across the United States and Canada with beautifully designed Japanese products that enrich everyday life. Here are a few highlights from the brands we proudly represent: CICADA CICADA is Focus America’s first original brand, created to bring the finest Japanese craftsmanship to the world. Collaborating with skilled Japanese artisans and brands, CICADA offers products that blend tradition and innovation. Its debut product, a ceramic coffee filter designed in New York and crafted in Japan, eliminates the need for both paper filters and a traditional dripper.
