About Sunset Studios Boston: Neighborhood Watercolors

Boston inspired, original artwork, handmade in small batches. Sunset Studios Boston is a small independent studio in East Boston where each piece is first hand-painted in watercolor inspired by the neighborhoods, landmarks, and small businesses that shape Boston’s communities. Our artwork is designed to be shown in small, curated collections. We recommend displaying 4–8 prints per design to maintain a gallery-style presentation an preserve the collectible feel of each piece and reccomend a Small or Large Display & Artist Story Kit to help customers understand the story behind the work. All art is painted by Kristen and Richie, while prints are produced in small batches in East Boston and hand-trimmed, matted, and packaged. Orders typically ship within 5–7 business days. Kristen Audette is an Environmental Scientist/Engineer turned watercolor painter. In 2019, she worked for victims of the Paradise, CA Wildfire and noticed the seedlings and wildflowers that started to grow back around the burnt neighborhoods during succession. This continues to inspire her to paint regrowth and celebrate the joy and beauty that can be found all around us even in times of suffering and destruction. In 2021, she moved back to Massachusetts with her partner and fellow artist, Richie Hudson where she continues to paint the places that bring culture and beauty to our neighborhoods. Read their story
