The Bear & The Rat was founded in 2010 by a husband-wife team along with their two taste testers: a Lhasa Apso who growled like a "Bear" and his brother-from-another-mother, a "Rat" Terrier. The company makes a popular frozen yogurt dog ice cream treat that they presented on Shark Tank in 2012. After 10+ years with a frozen only product line, The Bear & The Rat is keeping the pawty going with a shelf stable treat line of baking mixes called Barley's Bakes, named after The Meyer's adopted Shih-Poo, Barley.
