About Bamboo Hill

Bamboo Hill is celebration of beautiful fabrics meeting practical and durable design. Each handmade item is designed to highlight the texture and color of the fabrics used. I believe the items you use everyday should be durable and unique. Every item in my shop is made and packaged by just one person - me! After a disastrous sewing experience in 7th grade home economics class, no one was more surprised than me when I decided to make a quilt in high school. Since then I have returned to sewing in some form or another again and again. My sewing machine has travelled around the country with me, to graduate school in Michigan, an internship in South Carolina and finally back to Maryland. I have sewn at card tables, at my desk and at the dining room table. These days I am lucky to have a room in our house to call my own. My sewing studio looks out on the bamboo covering the hill in our back yard, inspiring my shop name. Read their story
