About THE MAP - Atelier Charlotte Bourrus

Handmade and made to order, Globes de Ville come to life in our workshop in Bidart (64) and are the fruit of 100% French art/craft. An original creation, each piece is as unique as the story it tells. A narrative and visual greenhouse in which cities grow and personal and collective stories exist. Paris, Singapore, Rio, Biarritz, New York, each city is an interpretation, an appropriation by the artist of urban space and time. Charlotte Bourrus is a graphic designer, a graduate of the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris. From school, her research and creations focus on migrations, contemporary history, geopolitics, and travel. Passionate about publishing, she also draws her inspiration from books, guides and stories. It is with collage - “a misuse of the know-how of others that says the same thing as poetry (Prévert)” - as the main theme of her approach that she tackled The Map project in 2011, which in 2020 became “L'Atelier”, a creative studio to which she is now entirely devoted, surrounded by a passionate and talented team. She works there and designs the most intimate projects as well as the most prestigious collaborations, always driven by this same insatiable curiosity and a unique, poetic and demanding artistic spirit.
