At East Waves, our story begins with the sun-kissed shores, crashing waves, and the exhilarating spirit of the ocean. What began as a mere Instagram page dedicated to capturing the untamed beauty of the surf, swiftly evolved into something much greater – a vibrant and sustainable surf apparel brand that echoes the heartbeats of surfers and ocean lovers alike. In the year 2020, East Waves emerged from the depths of a surf photography passion project that garnered a massive following. Fueled by our love for the sea and a commitment to preserving its pristine wonder, we ventured beyond pixels and pixels to bring our vision to life. Our founder, Tomas Gesumaria, hailing from the coastal haven of Asbury Park, New Jersey, transformed his mom's garage into a hub of creativity, armed with a screen printer and a stack of blank tees. Tomas, a devoted wave rider and a staunch advocate for sustainable living, understood that the ocean gives endlessly, and it's our responsibility to give back in return. With boundless enthusiasm and an unwavering passion, he embarked on the journey of a lifetime – birthing East Waves Co.
