About Chrys' Porcelain

The ritual of gathering for substance is at the core of my work, as is function and beauty. My functional porcelain wares are to revive dining rituals with beauty and grace, minus the fussiness of our ancestors’ Victorian relics and the waste of today’s fast food eating routines. My wares replace disposable single-use plastic packaging and formal place settings of the past, which I have exchanged with functional wares stored unpretentiously in our open kitchens. I am creating more than a stack of dishes but an unexpected decorative and expressive stack of aesthetically pleasing ceramic wares. I explore how each porcelain form works collaboratively with other serving pieces and within the framework of the “dish” to be done. I provide substance both in the body as a vessel and in spirit. Chrys is a talented ceramic artist who has turned her passion into a successful career. She offers private lessons, workshops, and consultations to educational departments, community studios, municipalities, and art studios.
