Mixers that Change the Game Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, founders Mary Pellettieri and Noah Swanson set out to start a company that changed the way people think about - and enjoy - drink mixers. In 2014, Mary, a former professional craft brewer at that time, was perplexed that there were no adult soft drinks she could drink while pregnant. Intrigued by the complex variety of herbs used in European amari, vermouth, and bitter wines, the duo began experimenting with herbs and syrups, drawing inspiration from old recipes in their self-constructed commercial kitchen. These early aromatic cocktail syrups would lead Top Note founders to craft a line of ready-to-serve sparkling mixers in 2017. Today, Mary and Noah have a line up of six mixers and sodas. Their modern take means more flavor, less sugar, and their use of the traditional US-made and sourced 10 oz mixer bottle means more to pour with built-in sustainability. Read their story
