About Bonfanti

Bonfanti is a family-run company founded in 1945 by Ermogene Bonfanti and his wife Annita. The brand started out as a small artisanal workshop specializing in briefcases and work bags, soon distinguishing itself for the creation of models that could be easily applied to bicycles as a popular means among the workers who worked in the numerous cotton mills in the Olona Valley. The textile vocation of the area immediately influenced the production orientation of the company; the use of leather and hides in general flanked that of the most varied fabrics to form its distinctive character. Olona canvas, raw linen, and coated fabrics marked the beginning of a long process of selection, experimentation, and specialization that continues to this day. Sons Angelo and Terenzio joined the company in the 1960s, contributing to its consolidation both on the domestic and foreign markets. During the '90s, Bonfanti participated in the first international trade fairs, ensuring greater visibility of the brand's collections and a possibility to new markets. Collaborations with Japan, Korea, and the United States solidified Bonfanti as a serious global player in the world of leather goods. The baton passed into the hands of the third generation, and today the company is managed by Stefano, Andrea, and Anna.
