About Petal Pushers by Janet Pitcher

Growing up in a very artistic family, Janet has always had ' an interest in art. Her family’s talents in jewelry l making and quilting have influenced how she crafts her own ' beautiful millefiori botanical jewelry. She approaches each of her floral jewelry designs as wearable art. Janet’s designs are created with detailed craftsmanship. She begins the millefiori canes by blending clay to create unique and fashionable color palettes. The petal and leaf canes are reduced by hand and thinly sliced and sculpted “One Petal at a Time” to create the colorful jewelry components. Each art jewelry pendant and lariat is combined with antique filigree using a special bonding process and signed by the artist. They hang gracefully from coordinating hand dyed silk cords. the hand-sculpted earring components are accented with Swarovski crystals and finished with hypoallergenic niobium ear wires. Janet’s Petal Pushers series of art jewelry is a statement piece in any wardrobe! Janet has been working in Polymer Clay since 1997.
