We are Maria and Laura, the founders of talking hands — the flip books for sign making. With talking hands, we want to make our contribution to an inclusive and understanding society. With our flipbooks, you can learn individual terms in a playful way as gestures. The small books are a great learning tool, especially for children. Our sign flipbooks are also ideal for giving greetings as a gesture in an innovative way. Unfortunately, inclusion is not yet a matter of course in many areas, and dealing with people with disabilities is still alien to many. This is precisely why it is important to teach children inclusion as a way of life right from the start. Through talking hands, we want to simplify communication between children with and without disabilities, so that no one has to grow up with feelings of isolation and lack of understanding. The inspiration behind talking hands is Laura's sister Jami, who has Down syndrome and was unable to speak as a child. Jami is now our warehouse manager and packs our flip books with a lot of love.
