Hi! I am a professional painter based in western Colorado's North Fork Valley. Working from my Rocky Mountain studio, I create bright, contemporary artwork with a current focus on atmospheric forest paintings. My latest pieces are mixed media collages and paintings deeply inspired by the majestic trees, changing seasons and wooded landscapes that surround me. While I also create contemporary art of birds and animals, capturing the quiet depth of the forest is where my heart is right now. My work is in thousands of private collections and has evolved over decades of studio practice. Early on I painted custom portraits, which taught me observation, form and composition. Over time my focus shifted toward abstraction, exploring atmosphere, quiet color relationships and the physical presence of paint. I build each piece slowly using layered acrylic, gesso, papers and drawing materials to create surfaces that feel weathered, calm and dimensional. Pale tones, mineral neutrals and occasional metallic accents let the artwork change subtly as light moves across it. Every piece is crafted by hand as an original work of art for retailers, collectors and modern homes. I love collaborating with interior designers and licensing select works for commercial use.
