In the tranquil Blue Ridge mountains, Paul and Sue Bergstrom discovered their passion for the art of melodious craftsmanship. With Paul's exceptional woodworking skills and Sue's artistic flair, they embarked on an exciting journey to create something truly unique—Mountain Melodies. In, 2025, Paul and Sue trained Bill and Sharri to continue the legacy of producing these one-of-a-kind, meticulously handcrafted kalimbas also known as thumb pianos. Bill and Sharri bring fresh energy and heartfelt vision to Mountain Melodies. We are devoted to preserving the spirit of Mountain Melodies: honoring the craftmanship and community that shaped its beginnings, while exploring new horizons from our new home base in Kansas. Our goal is to show that making music is for everyone. We believe that anyone can learn to play a thumb piano in a matter of minutes, providing a lifetime of enjoyment and satisfaction. With its unique history and simplified number system, we know that our quality, handcrafted kalimbas/thumb pianos will bring joy and intrigue to any setting.
