Spending time with the Lord every day has always been a goal in my life. In fact, part of my homeschool curriculum as I grew up on the mission field in Mongolia was to do devotions every weekday morning. However, it wasn't until I came to genuine faith in my own heart that I realized just how important this discipline is for a follower of Jesus. Once I understood my desperate, daily need for Christ, I started the hard work of building a quiet time habit. I struggled for years! It wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I started to see real consistency., and at that point, my quiet time shifted from a guilt-driven drudgery to a grace-based delight. (I share all about this in my book, Quiet: Creating Grace-Based Rhythms for Spending Time with Jesus.) Fast forward to early 2018, where I was sitting at my dining room table, books spread out all over the place, coffee in one hand, and a pen in the other. I had in front of me a prayer journal, a Bible Study notebook, a sermon notebook, a journal journal, and several scraps of paper. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice if there was a planner that could keep all of these notes in one beautiful place? I began to research with little luck. After a few hours of looking, I said out loud to the empty room, "That's it, I'm going to make this thing myself!"
