About HeartMoss Pottery

Hannah Martin has been a helicopter mechanic in the Marine Corps, a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, and a theatrical stage manager in Portland, Oregon and New York City. She lives in rural Grayson County, Virginia with her wife and children on a small homestead-style farm. Hannah makes wheelthrown and slipcast functional stoneware and porcelain pieces that utilize glaze colors she's developed in the studio, which results in color combinations unique to HeartMoss Pottery. She revels in the three-dimenstional tactile experience of pottery, and loves the fact that pottery is art, craft, and science melded into a single form. Read their story
