About Cafe Carrizal

Cafe Carrizal was founded by 4th and 5th generation coffee farmers whose ancestors founded the village of Carrizal. We are part of a nonprofit farmers' cooperative that owns a factory in the Central Mountains of Dominican Republic, a short distance from the highest point in the Caribbean. Our coffee is grown on farms that use sustainable mixed-farming practices, and the coffee beans are hand-sorted for the highest quality. 5 percent of our profits go towards a literacy program that launched in the Dominican Republic this year.
