About Matchbox 912

Seth Bilkis is a visual artist based in Savannah, GA. Matchbox 912 is a new artistic endeavor he started in January 2023. Why Matches? When Seth was younger, his Aunt in NYC had a giant bowl of matches in her apartment. He always wanted to look through them, although he never asked. Seth knew he wanted a matchbook collection just like her when he grew up. Matchbooks/boxes are unique pieces of history, memory, nostalgia, art, and graphic design. The collages embrace and celebrate all that makes the individual pieces special and explore how they work together to create unique compositions.
