About CharmCat

CharmCat is a watercolor stationery company that creates pretty paper things for pretty funny people! My greeting card line is honest, funny, and disarming. Each of my card designs is created using old-fashioned paint and paper, not digital painting, and attention to the printing means my cards retain the warmth and detail of an original watercolor. The common thread that runs through my designs is celebration of self. I believe in helping people feel good about who they are and validating their experiences and feelings. I want my art to connect with people at their core and make them feel heard. I started CharmCat in 2013 as a wedding invitation designer with a little Etsy shop. CharmCat has grown and changed since then, guided by a love of watercolor painting and all things paper. I branched out from weddings and launched my everyday stationery line for retail at the end of 2018, and debuted my wholesale catalog at Noted in 2019. Now, in addition to greeting cards and art prints, I have gift tags, buttons, stickers, and more. I'm always stretching my creativity. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from McDaniel College, and then got an MFA in Creative Writing from Stony Brook University. Afterwards, I went to work as a graphic designer for a few years before deciding corporate life was not for me. Currently I live in Martinsville, Virginia, with my paleontologist husband and two spoiled cats.Read their story
