About Paper Bird Publishing
Paper Bird came about through friendship, collaboration, luck and happenstance. For 25 years I worked as a bookseller with a special interest in children's books. In 2011, I began to develop ideas for Paper Bird with graphic designer, Emma. My own children’s book illustrations and sketches came out of a seldom-opened plan chest and formed two thirds of the first catalogue of one hundred designs. It was always my intention to make Paper Bird a gathering of artists, illustrators and printmakers offering images that collectively created the atmosphere of a welcoming little gallery tucked down a side street, a place full of warmth and fun and delight. These cards are fabulous ! We absolutely love the quirky nature of many of the designs - they just make you smile. Being a gallery, our business is very biased towards art inspired cards, but these tick that box too. We contacted the company to request if we could receive them asap as the lead time felt a little too long. We'd omitted to take into account that Easter was around the corner, but even so they clearly pulled the stops out for us as the cards were with us far sooner than expected.
