Mimi + Marge is handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia using post consumer silver, which we fabricate ourselves. We collaborate with local artisans and craftspeople to produce a combination of a modern aesthetic, using traditional silversmith techniques. Silversmithing in Bali has been a family affair for centuries. Highly skilled artisans require high levels of patience and attention to detail. Often slowly soldering hundreds of tiny silver pieces together. These time honoured skills of exceptional craftingtechniques are handed down from generation to generation. What started as a trip to Bali during my travel obsessed twenties, turned into a lifelong love of Bai. If you have been, you know it as a magical place. I have always loved making things and started sewing my own clothes at a young age. After years of trying to find out what to do with my career ( I have worked every low paying job on the planet), I went to design school. It only seemed natural that I would mix my love of Bali and design to create a business. As a female entrepreneur I have a strong passion to inspire and make it possible to empower other women, which is why we have supported BaliWise (@baliwise) for many years. This non-profit works to help marginalized women gain skills for meaningful employment.
